Ministry
St. Mark's: The Eucharist is celebrated the third Sunday of the month at 10:45 a.m. Evening Prayer is offered Wednesdays; the undercroft is home to a weekly AA group; and the church is open 24/7 for prayer and peaceful meditation. Laying on of hands and prayers for healing are given at the conclusion of the service on the third Sunday.
St. Luke's: The Eucharist is celebrated all Sundays (except the 3rd Sunday) at 10:45 a.m., with healing prayers on the first Sunday; four AA groups use the undercroft for meetings as well.
We serve a public Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday that benefits the local food shelf, and our annual fundraisers are used for outreach. We are involved in supporting local endeavors such as Fair Haven Concerned and state and international ones such as the Heifer Project and Episcopal Relief and Development. Several members visit shut-ins and offer Home Communion.
St. Luke's is also a home for an ecumenical post-Cursillo (Episcopal and Roman Catholic)/"Walk to Emmaaus (Methodist) group called Fourth Day, or Ultreya. The vestry is engaged, and we are active members in the Slate Valley Regional Ministry.

"Did you know that every three seconds in our world, someone dies simply because he or she is too poor to continue living? Or that every six seconds, someone dies from AIDS, malaria, or tuberculosis? Or that in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean, a child is orphaned every 14 seconds?" ---Alexander Baumgarten (abaoumgarten@espiscopalchurch.org) Alexander Baumgarten is international policy analyst for the Episcopal Church in its Office of Government Relations (Government relations)
